U10 Birth Years 2013/2014
U12 Birth Years 2011/2012
U14 Birth Years 2009/2010
Tryout sessions will be approximately sixty minutes in length. Independent evaluators will assess the players, and rate them on specific criteria including ball control, passing, shooting, trapping, game sense, and positional play. Players will also participate in short sided scrimmages. The highest rated players will be given the opportunity to register for the EXTRA team. Players should anticipate that the tryouts will be competitive in nature, and not all players will make the team. Players who are not selected for an EXTRA team will be encouraged to play in the AYSO core program.
What is EXTRA?
AYSO Extra™ Soccer League is an inter-regional gaming circuit for participating AYSO Extra™ program teams.
AYSO Extra™ is a competitive soccer program designed to provide a more challenging level of play for those players who possess the appropriate interest, skills and abilities necessary to compete at a higher level. AYSO's sixth philosophy, Player Development is a primary focus of the AYSO Extra™ program.
AYSO Extra™ advantages Over Other Highly Competitive Programs:
Low Cost - Fees are kept reasonable to accommodate more players
Everyone Plays 3/4 - No one sits the bench, every team plays by the 3/4 rule. (no player will play four quarters until every player has played three quarters)
Quality Trainers - To help players to better develop technical skills, tactical abilities
Player Development - Setting a clear path to help player achieve realistic goals and realize their potential while having fun learning the game of soccer.
Positive Coaching - Certified, experienced and knowledgeable coaches who are positive, instructive and encouraging with the players.
Trained Quality Referees - Game Officials who are mindful of player safety and who referee for the love of the game and not a paycheck.
