Welcome 2019 Moorpark AYSO Coaches!
THANK-YOU for volunteering, with-out you we would not have a program for over 1000 kids!

  Where to start?  Its as easy as 1-2-3!!  Instructions below. 

Step 1
Coaches must register as a Region 363 volunteer every year, the sooner the better!!  The clearance process can take up to 2 weeks.

Step 2
Coaches must complete Safe Haven and be CDC Concussion Awareness Certification every 2 yrs. Directions below.

Step 3
Coaches must be age specific certified by the first Saturday in October. Teams without a certified coach by the deadline will not be permitted to participate in Region, Area, or Section playoffs.

Instructions for steps 1-2-3
STEP 1
Please Register as a volunteer TODAY, go to our website, www.moorparkayso.org and log into your account, click on the “Volunteer” Button on the left and then the “Volunteer Roles” on the top right, then “Select” Head Coach in the division that your child plays, follow the prompts, be sure to esign and submit, and continue all the way to the end.  If this is your first time please be sure to complete the Volunteer Verification form.

STEP 2
In order for you to be covered by our supplemental insurance which covers us from personal law suits when involved with an AYSO event, every volunteer must complete Safe Haven and also Concussion Certification every (with-in) 2 years, 2017 or later. Allow 30-45 minutes. These certifications can be found on the AYSOU website or go to www.moorparkayso.org and choose the AYSOU tab, you will need your user name and password, same as your BlueSombrero account that you used to register your player. Once in choose the "My Courses" tab, look for the Safe Haven tab and then the CDC Concussion tab.

STEP 3
Coaches must be "Certified" in the level they are coaching-More below.There is a huge list of classes on the AYSOU website, again you will need your user name and password, same as your BlueSombrero account that you used to register your player.

Go to "Live Courses" click on the division you are Coaching "10U Coach"  (U6, U8 (includes U7), U10, 12U, 14U, Referee). The classes are FREE as long as you take them locally. Click the blue description line for complete information AND then the Register button if you find one that you can attend.
 
  • The required training levels are
    • U5/U6: U6 Coach - Available online at  AYSOU
    • U7/U8: U8 Coach - Available online at AYSOU
    • U10: U10 Coach - A portion is available online at AYSOU. Note that the field portion must be an in person class.
    • U12: U12 Coach - Please see AYSOU for complete course listings. 
    • U14: Intermediate Coach - Saturday, August 3, 2019, 8:00 AM to 5:00 P
  • • U16/19: Advanced Coach - Saturday, August 4, 2019, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

There are two U6, U8, U10 and U12 certification classes available in Newbury Park (only need to attend one).

When: Saturday, July 27, 2019 or Saturday, August 10, 2019 or (5/6U Only) August 24th,2019 
All courses start at 8:30 am and end by 12:00 pm (12U course concludes by 3:00 pm) 
 
  Where: Sequoia Boys & Girls Club at Sequoia Middle School: 2855 Borchard Road, Newbury Park, CA 91320 .
  Register at AYSOU (if course is not listed yet, please check again later)
  Bring: Pen/pencil and a note pad. There will also be a field session so wear appropriate shoes and bring sunscreen, water and a soccer ball.

Intermediate/Advanced Coach Courses
Coaches in the 14U division must be certified as an Intermediate coach, and those in the 16U/19U divisions must have the Advanced certification.
Area 10E will be offering both courses to be hosted by Region 42, Newbury Park.

  • When: Saturday, August 3, 2019, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Intermediate), Saturday, August 4, 2019, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Advanced)
  • Where:
    • Intermediate: Dos Vientos Community Center, 4801 Borchard Rd, Newbury Park, CA 91320
    • Advanced: Coast Index/GPM, 850 Lawrence Dr, Newbury Park, CA 91320
  • Register at AYSOU (if course is not listed yet, please check again later).
  • There is pre-course work to be done ahead of time (weeks ahead not hours), you will need to "purchase" this through AYSOU under eCommerce and Coach Training (You will be reimbursed by Region 363 or your region, whichever is applicable).  Attendees will be notified by the instructor, so please register as soon as possible.
  • Bring: Pen/pencil and a note pad. There will also be a field session for Intermediate so wear appropriate shoes and bring sunscreen, water and a soccer ball. 

 Prerequisites:
 Intermediate course: Coaches must have passed the 12U course.
 Advanced course: Coaches must have passed the Intermediate course. 

Game & Referee Points for U10 - U14 teams
Each U10 - U14 teams participating is required to provide at least one qualified referee to support the program.
Team standings are on based on points for games played, (3) points for a win, (1) for a tie, (0) for a loss,
plus up to two (2) points per week for referee participation.

Teams not meeting the minimum requirement of (1) point per week will not qualify for post-season play.
